New mastermind coaching group: Leading for Happiness

Happy Brain Science is offering a mastermind coaching group focused on leading for happy and engaged employees.

The mastermind group will be facilitated by CEO and Coach Scott Crabtree. The group will include online training and meetings, in-person opportunities, a one-on-one coaching session with Scott, and access for you and your colleagues to our happiness e-course.  Please read more and if this sounds like a good fit for you, apply below.

Why should I join?

Because life is too short for you–or those you lead–to be unhappy or disengaged at work. Studies suggest happiness brings more creativity, productivity, engagement, energy, resilience, and success. Happier people are also healthier and live longer.

Is this group for me?

If you lead in any way, this group is for you. You might be officially managing people, or you might be someone that others look to for guidance (most leaders are unofficial, according to data.) No experience with coaching is necessary to participate in the group. You can join no matter your current level of happiness. I’ll pick participants that will form the most cohesive and helpful group possible.

What are the goals? 

You will bring your own goal(s) for our time together. The unifying theme for the group is “Leading for Happiness”. That mean
s that your goal should ultimately connect to leading for happiness and engagement. But individual goals could be as varied as:
  • Dealing with unhappy employees
  • Helping employees deal with change or difficult circumstances
  • Improving the negative culture in your organization
  • Finding your own joy at work

…you can bring whatever goal(s) you want, as long as they can be met by a group focused on leading for happy, engaged employees. You do NOT have to have your goal figured out before joining the group; we will work on creating and clarifying goals as needed.

How will we measure success? Is there any guarantee?

We will measure your happiness level at the beginning of the mastermind group, and you can use the same science-based assessment to measure the happiness of your colleagues. We will measure happiness again at the end of the mastermind to ensure that you got results. And in the highly unlikely event you put in the work but don’t get results, you’ll be entitled to a refund. Your satisfaction is guaranteed!

When and how will we meet? What do I get besides the group coaching? 

If accepted into the group, you will receive 10 access codes to our e-course Thrive from 9-5; The Science of Being Happy and Productive at Work; one for yourself and others for those you lead. The ‘homework’ before each group meeting will be to know the essential content in a chapter of the e-course. This will allow group discussion time to focus on questions, deeper learning, and application of the science, not learning the basic science.

We’ll typically meet over video and/or phone conferencing, with the option of joining me in person in Portland, Oregon. Meeting will be on Wednesdays, either mid-morning or mid-afternoon Pacific time. We will meet at least nine times as a group, for 1.5 hours every other week, starting Wed. January 17th and ending Wed. May 23rd.

Will there be ‘homework’ between meetings?

You will leave every session with ‘homework’, or if you prefer, “happy work”!  In addition to learning from the e-course, you might have other actions to take in-between sessions. Your homework will depend on your goal. You will create a detailed action plan to build helpful habits during our time together and sustain momentum after we wrap up.

Will I be accepted into the group?

To ensure you can build quality relationships and have ample time to focus on you and your issues, the group will be limited to at most 10 leaders.

I will build a cohesive group that can help you and hold you accountable. When you apply, you will tell me about the kind of leader you are, so I can pick participants that share similar challenges. But I am not expecting everyone to have exactly the same goal, nor does everyone have to start at the same happiness level. Diversity is helpful.

How much will it cost?

Coaching can result in promotions and raises which are worth tens of thousands of dollars a year.

I’m asking a fee of $897 (before discounts) for the 5 months of mastermind coaching. That includes:

  • 10 access codes to Thrive from 9-5; The Science of Happiness at Work e-course (normal price: $790)
  • A one-on-one session with me, at least 1 hour long (normal price: $300)
  • At least 9 group sessions, 1.5 hours each (price for individual coaching: $3,600)

So that’s a package with over $4,500 in value for the special introductory rate of $897 or less; I offer a 1/3 discount if you work for a non-profit or have a unique financial need. If you are accepted into the group, you’ll be able to appeal for the lower rate then.
